About Me

Howdy! I'm Justin. 🤠

I’m a former Incident Response intern, Drone Security researcher, and GRC intern interested in DFIR, Reverse Engineering, and Cyber Threat Intelligence.

Or at least, that’s what I would be telling you if I’m being professional. Which doesn’t really tell you a whole lot about me.

What I’d actually tell you in person is that I’m a silly fella that:

  • Likes to blow things up and put it back together
  • Wants to find out how things/tools/scripts/malware really work
  • Likes DFIR (it’s like CSI, but Cyber Edition), doing cool SOC stuff, and playing with Cyber Threat Intelligence (maybe actual Intelligence someday. You never know, maybe someday the NSA will show up at my doorstep and recruit me for a top secret mission or something)
  • Plays the trumpet, DM’d and played D&D 5e, and am Faithful to the Bay. No, I’m not happy about the 2026 schedule. Yes, I think we should blow up that electrical substation.

About the Site

You can say that I started this blog out of spite. I really hate it when I get curious about something, go out of my way to research and look it up online, and find nothing useful outside of marketing, AI slop, and 20 year old forum threads that don’t work anymore.

So once in a while, if I do some investigating/research and find something I think might be useful or interesting to people, I’ll drop it in the blog.

I don’t really see myself as an “Cybersecurity influencer/Thought Leader/Content Creator”, so I probably won’t be posting regularly. I also don’t see myself as an expert (or anything close to one), so take everything I say with a grain of salt (and feel free to reach out if anything here is wrong).

These are examples of stuff you might find on the blog:

  • How Windows OS decrypts password hashes on boot from SYSTEM and SAM files (here’s a diagram and doc I made a few years ago that I’ve been trying to share/upload for a while)
  • Byte-Accurate MAVLink documentation
  • Pulling apart a Discord RAT hidden inside a Minecraft Mod (and also how to make one; two sides of the same coin)

These are examples of stuff you won’t find on the blog (I will die of cringe before it makes it on here):

  • How to set up your homelab!!! 😐
  • How to install and set up Kali Linux
  • Top 10 hacker tools you NEED to know in 2026
  • I don’t know what AI buzzword-filled slop people post on YouTube these days, but that

Networking / Contacts

I love networking! Did you know ARIN actually performs audits on your organization and forces you to justify your IP block? Back in college, ARIN was accusing a friend’s “tiny BGP network” of wasting IP addresses and I had a lot of fun creating random IP justifications out of thin air.

Oh. That’s probably not the type of networking you’re thinking of.

If you know me personally, the best way to contact me is to text, email, or call me.

I’ll be very honest; I’m not too active on “professional” platforms. However, you can find me on:

  • GitHub
  • LinkedIn
  • I have an EDAS account that people are saying I should link here, but I’m still trying to figure that out

If I ever become that important someday, here’s my PGP Key.
